What is it?
Short-wave UV radiation has a bactericidal effect and is not used for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes. Currently, UVA-UVB spectrum of UV radiation are used for treatment and prevention.
It should be noted that the penetrating ability of a particular radiation through the skin of a person depends on the wavelength, which is of paramount importance in the appointment of the treatment of various skin diseases, when the positive process is localized in a particular layer of the skin or subcutaneous fat (hypodermis): medium-wave rays penetrate through the stratum corneum and reach the prickly layer of the epidermis, and long-wave rays penetrating through the epidermis reach the papillary and reticular layers of the dermis.
